Lekpele M. Nyamalon is a poet, writer, author, and motivational speaker. He is also an OSIWA Poetry Fellow. He was a TEDx speaker at TEDx Monrovia, the first of its kind in Liberia. Lekpele is helping Liberian youth discover themselves and their voices through the power of the arts. He is the founder of Africa’s Life, an Afrocentric youth-based nonprofit that inspires youth through motivational speaking, arts, and culture. During the 2017 elections in Liberia, he wrote and directed radio plays that were performed by youth to send messages against election violence. He holds an MBA in Finance. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Lekpele plans to expand his work in arts, culture, and motivational speaking to build a community of conscious youth and leaders.
